Our client, a reputable organization in the Biotechnology and Life Sciences industry, is seeking a creative, strategic, and digitally savvy Social Media Officer to strengthen its online presence and communicate complex scientific, healthcare, and biotechnology topics in clear and engaging ways.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies, creating and coordinating content, managing digital communities, monitoring audience engagement, and strengthening the organization’s brand reputation across relevant platforms.

Reports To: Head of Communications / Marketing Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with the organization’s brand, business objectives, and communications goals.
- Manage the organization’s social media presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and other relevant channels.
- Develop monthly and campaign-specific content calendars.
- Create, curate, and publish engaging content across social media platforms.
- Translate complex biotechnology, healthcare, research, and life sciences topics into clear, accessible, and engaging content.
- Work closely with scientists, researchers, healthcare professionals, management, and other internal teams to gather accurate information for content development.
- Write compelling captions, articles, social posts, campaign copy, and other digital communications materials.
- Coordinate the development of visual, video, educational, and multimedia content.
- Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and conversations across social media platforms.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the organization’s online community and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends, scientific developments, competitor activity, and emerging digital trends.
- Develop social media campaigns to promote research, products, services, events, partnerships, publications, and organizational initiatives.
- Track social media performance using relevant analytics and reporting tools.
- Prepare regular reports covering reach, engagement, audience growth, content performance, and campaign results.
- Use audience insights and performance data to improve content strategy and digital engagement.
- Maintain consistency in the organization’s visual identity, tone of voice, messaging, and brand standards.
- Support online reputation management and escalate sensitive or potentially damaging issues appropriately.
- Ensure published content complies with organizational policies, applicable regulations, ethical standards, and approved scientific communications.
- Collaborate with external creative partners, influencers, media organizations, and other relevant stakeholders when required.
- Support digital communications during conferences, research events, product launches, campaigns, and organizational activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, communications, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience managing professional or corporate social media accounts.
- Strong copywriting, editing, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content formats, audience engagement, and digital trends.
- Ability to simplify technical, scientific, healthcare, or biotechnology information for general audiences.
- Strong knowledge of social media analytics and performance reporting.
- Experience using social media management and scheduling platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple content projects and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and understanding of brand consistency.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Research, Diagnostics, or a related industry.
- Background or demonstrated interest in science, healthcare, biotechnology, medicine, or life sciences.
- Experience developing B2B, institutional, scientific, healthcare, or technical communications.
- Experience with LinkedIn content strategy and professional audience engagement.
- Basic graphic design, photography, video editing, or content production skills.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Analytics, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting conferences, scientific events, product launches, research announcements, or corporate campaigns.
